This quote has been pivotal to me ever since I heard Kevin on stage at a Keller Williams realty event years ago. Kevin Carroll, author of Rules of the Red Rubber Ball, tells the hard story of his growing up with trauma and hardship. He shared that he and his brothers were abandoned in a mobile home by their mom – who had struggles of her own. After a couple of days, they sought help from a neighbor. That neighbor was able to get in touch with their grandparents and get the boys on a bus to safety with family. Kevin and his brothers ended up staying with his grandparents and his book tells that story.
